Safety routines
Helmets and gear
Every batter and base runner wears a helmet. Catchers wear a mask, a chest protector and shin guards, fitted before the first drill. Bats stay in the rack until a coach calls a hitter.
Pitchers and rest days
Pitchers throw on a program with rest days built in, and we ask about throwing on your camper's league team.
Shade, water, sun and heat
Water is at every station, and we stop for a water break between rounds, and more often when the day is hot. Send your camper with sunscreen already on, and a coach reminds each camper at the morning break. On very hot days the hardest drills move to early morning and the shelter is open at midday.
Lightning and weather
When we hear thunder or see lightning, everyone leaves the field and waits at the shelter until it clears. We text families about a change before camp starts and again if the plan changes during the day.
Sign-in and pickup
An adult on your list signs your camper in and out at the Field 1 gate, and we ask for ID until we know you.
Allergies, medicine and illness
Tell us about allergies and medicine at registration, and we ask what we need privately. A camper with a fever stays home, and if a camper feels ill at camp, we call you and a coach stays with them until you arrive.
